It's the most wonderful time of the year!

We started our Christmas celebration on Tuesday night when we got together with some good family friends, the Romines. We made gingerbread houses and ate pizza and exchanged gifts. It was a lot of fun. My sis and I made quite a house!! :)

On Christmas Eve we headed to Grandma and G-Pa's house to play games with granny. Sawyer got to open a present (a new booster seat) and he loved it! He played so hard that he fell asleep on G-Pa's belly! After their house we all headed to church with Layne's family at The River and then went out to dinner at Red Lobster where the waitress put live lobsters on our table and we watched them jump around...gross!! The kids got a big kick out of it, but Layne and Sawyer didn't like it too much!

Christmas morning we opened up the presents that Santa brought and Sawyer loved playing with his new toys. Then we headed to Nanny and Papa's for breakfast and presents and a day full of fun! It was a great Christmas and we still have one event to go! We are celebrating Christmas with Chris's family later this week! What a fun time of year!

Uh Oh!

Sawyer has a new word! Nanny taught him to say "uh oh" this weekend and now he says it non stop! It is so cute :)
He also decided this morning that I was not fast enough at getting him his bottle so he just decided to feed himself. It was a nice relief for me, but I don't like the fact that he needs me less and less each day. He is growing up way too fast!

Christmas Fun

This weekend we headed to Clinton for our annual Bryant Christmas gathering. It is always fun to see everyone and see how the kids have grown and changed. Sawyer had a good time and loved all the attention!! He played with his cousins and we even attempted to get a picture of all the great grandkids, but as you can see by the picture below it didn't turn out so well! Oh well, maybe next year! :)

Fun Videos

Here are a couple of recent videos I took of Sawyer. He has learned to clap this week and wants to do it all the time. Really, he just likes to do anything that requires energy, we think he might be a little hyper! :)

Meeting Santa and getting a new puppy all in one week!

Sawyer has had a big week! On top of getting his second tooth, he got to meet Santa for the first time and his new puppy came to live with him! He wasn't feeling very well when he sat on Santa's lap so he wasn't as excited as he probably wanted to be, but he still liked him all the same. He loves his new puppy and she loves him. We had a lot of fun playing with her last night. What a busy week!

New Family Member

It looks like we are going to be adding a new member to our family! No, we are not having another baby! One of our friends has a dog that they don't have time to take care of so we have agreed to take it in. This will be dog #3 for us, but she is the cutest dog in the world and we thought, "why not have 1 more?"!!! I know I know, we are crazy, but I just love dogs so much and I can't say no!! Below is a picture of our new little cutie...Peanut. Wish us luck! (We do have someone that will be willing to take her if it doesn't work out, so we are not TOO crazy!!)

Almost Crawling

We had some fun play time on the floor last night and Sawyer is so close to crawling! I think it will be any day now! Here are some pictures of play time from last night. He went through the Fisher Price and Pottery Barn Kids catalogues and showed us what he wanted for Christmas (ok, maybe he just ripped the pages, but it was fun all the same!). He had just gotten out of the bath tub so you will notice that his hair is extra fuzzy!! :)

Kloey's First Concert

My sis and I took my niece, Kloey, to her first concert Tuesday night. We went to the new JQH Arena at Missouri State and saw the Casting Crowns Christmas Concert. It was so much fun and Kloey loved it! Here are a few pics...

So Many Thanks to Give

Our Thanksgiving was filled with family and fun! We started out the day by going to my Uncle Mike's house and eating tons of delicious food that his wife Kim cooked for us! We then headed to Grandma and G Pa's house for a fun night of games with granny. My mom, sister, aunt Linda, cousin Jamie and I headed to the Tanger mall at midnight for some shopping with all the "crazies". It was fun and tiring! Friday we headed to Kansas City to spend some time with Aunt Barbara and Uncle Doug. We watched the MU/KU game and Barbara and Doug tried to turn Sawyer into a KU fan (not going to happen!!), we did a little shopping, and Sawyer got to experience his first snow! It was a fun holiday for sure!

Pictures

Here are some cute recent pictures of Sawyer for you to enjoy!

Another year older

Chris turned 29 on November 13 and we had fun celebrating with our little boy. Sawyer really enjoyed playing and chewing on the birthday card he got his daddy and he had a ton of fun playing with his cousins at Chris's birthday dinner with my family.

My Hall of Fame Daddy!

I just wanted to take a minute to brag on my dad who is going to be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame!! Here is a clip from the news last night. We are so proud!!

Update

It has been awhile so I thought I would post an update. Let's see...what has happened since I last blogged?
1. Sawyer got his first tooth
2. Sawyer learned how to wave bye bye
3. Sawyer learned how to say "hey" and thinks it is really funny when you say it back and forth with him
4. Layne and Chris survived a horrible bout of strep throat
5. Chris turned 29 years old

I think that is about everything I needed to let you know to catch you up to date. We are headed to Kansas City tonight to stay with our friend Angela for the weekend. I am sure I will have some fun pictures to post on Monday. Have a great weekend!

It was a GREAT season!

We couldn't pull off a win against Webb City last night so our season officially came to an end. Even though we lost we can officially label this football season as a great success. It has been several years since we played this well and it was sure fun! Webb City is an amazing football team and I wouldn't be surprised if they went all the way this year. I am so proud of my dad and his Branson Pirates! Until next year...(hopefully!!) :)

Reading is Fun

Sawyer got a new book for halloween and, as you can tell by this video, he absolutely loves it! He laughed so hard it gave him the hiccups!

Halloween Fun

Sawyer's first halloween was full of fright and fun! He started out the day by getting 4 shots at the Health Department (his 6 month vaccinations)! He wasn't so excited about that, but he quickly forgot it once he got to school and saw his teachers and classmates all dressed up for the day. He had a fun day at school with a lot of partying and then we went home to get him ready for the big night. First, we went to the Cape Fair Baptist Church to see Grandma and G-Pa and Grandma had a good time showing Sawyer off to all her friends. Then we traveled back to Branson for a fire and marshmallow roasting at Nanny and Papa's. Sawyer enjoyed himself even though he had no idea why he was wearing a dinosoar outfit! He looked so cute as "sawdoggiesaurus."
