Well, Sawyer has finally reached the age when he can move to new and better foods! We fed him rice cereal for the first time last night and he was more excited about sitting in the high chair than he was about eating out of a spoon. He made quite a mess and had lots of fun, but I am not sure he swallowed a bite of the cereal! :)

Da Da and Some Snoring
Chris is jealous no more! Tonight Sawyer decided to add to his vocabulary and belt out a few "da da da's!" Let's just say there was a pretty big smile on Chris's face when he heard those words for the first time!
We are a little worried that Sawyer is taking after his PaPa and G Pa in the snoring category. This video might give you an idea of what we are talking about. (you might need to turn the volume up a little to hear it clearly) :)

Baby Einstein and a Jump-A-Roo
What makes for a fun night for a 5 month old? You guessed it...Baby Einstein and a Jump-A-Roo!! Sawyer watched Baby Einstein for the first time tonight while sitting in his Jump-A-Roo and he had a blast! He was letting out some real "belly laughs" at those silly chickens and crazy shapes and colors. He is really growing up too fast. Today when I went to pick him up from daycare he was sitting at the table with all the big kids instead of in the teacher's lap or a bouncy seat. You could tell he thought it was pretty cool that he was sitting up like a big boy!
This video is a little dark, but it will give you an idea of how much fun Sawyer was having in his Jump-A-Roo.

Good News
Sawyer had his neurology appointment this morning and it seem that all is well! The doctor did some tests to make sure that Sawyer is doing all the things a normal 5 month old should be doing and he passed with flying colors! He doesn't think the head shaking is anything to worry about unless he starts showing new signs and symptoms or if his development starts to slow down. We don't even have to go back for a follow up visit unless things change. He said that there could be a number of things causing the head shaking, none of which are anything to worry about. We are very relieved and thankful for this good news.
Sawyer thoroughly enjoyed the appointment! He just thought the doctor wanted to play with him and he laughed and smiled through the whole thing. So with all that said, it looks like we have ourselves a happy and healthy baby boy...praise God!
Music to my ears
Today I heard something that I have, up to this date, only dreamed of hearing. Those sweet precious words, "ma ma ma ma" came out of Sawyer's mouth while we were in the car driving into town. Now I know that he had no idea what he was saying or that it had any relation to the lady who feeds him, changes his daipers, and picks him up when he cries, but it was music to my ears all the same!
