Such a personality!

How can Sawyer be so ornery and sweet at the same time? I find myself asking that question every day. He is the silliest little guy and definitely knows how to push his limits, but then turns right around and is the sweetest thing ever. I just can't get enough of him! The other morning I went in his room and he was still asleep so I opened his closet door to get an outfit out and he woke up. Once he figured out I was in the room he said, "my mommy" in the sweetest little excited voice. Then I went to pick him up out of bed and he just hugged me for the longest time and finally he put his hands on my cheeks and gave me the sweetest kiss while making the "mmmmwaaa" sound at the same time. That memory will be with me till the day I die.

I could tell you tons of stories of how Sawyer has made us laugh over the past few weeks, but I think these videos will do the trick just as well.

Sawyer loves singing and dancing, especially in the car. His favorite song is "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas! It is hilarious. When that song comes on the radio he gets so excited and starts bobbing his head to the music. He even tries to sing along.

Chris is a huge Conan O'brien fan and he records his show every night so he can watch it later. I guess the opening number to the show is really fun because Sawyer gets SO excited when it comes on. He doesn't really care about watching the rest of the show, but the beginning is sure entertaining to him!

I can't even believe how much Sawyer has grown this past month, not just in size, but in personality and ability. I feel like he is a full fledged toddler and not a baby anymore which makes me excited and sad at the same time. He is working on his 6th and 7th tooth right now and this morning I realized that his shoes are too small so we need to go shopping. Wow, they really do grow up way too fast!

Summer Fun

I am a little behind on updates and photos so I will try to catch up!

The past couple weeks...

* We have looked, but still have not bought a minivan

* Sawyer FINALLY got his 5th tooth

* Sawyer started walking really well and even running at times

* We spent 4th of July in Kansas City and had a blast with Doug and Barb and Grandma and GPa Wilks

* Sawyer has become quite the ham, as you can see from some of the photos below!

Here are some pictures from 4th of July weekend in Kansas City. We went to a parade in Rich Hill (Chris's hometown) and spend a little time at the park. Sawyer decided to be quite cheesy in some of these pictures (and so did Chris!)!

Today we are celebrating our 7 year wedding anniversary! Wow, I can't believe it has been that long! We are so blessed :)

Never Mind

We did not end up buying a mini van this weekend! We drove all the way to Jeff City and as soon as we started to look at the vehicle we knew we didn't want it. It was in poor shape and we felt very misled. Huge bummer! The search continues!

Goodbye Honda, Hello Minivan!

We are taking the plunge and becoming a mini van family this weekend! We sold our Honda last week and got just what we needed to pay it off so we could purchase a bigger and less expensive vehicle. We found a mini van and have already negotiated a great deal and we will go Saturday to pick it up. Here is a picture of our new family vehicle :)

Summer Fun

Sawyer is having a blast this summer! He gets better at walking every day and he can now walk across the room and stand up on his own without holding on to anything. It is so fun to watch him learn new things. He loves his pool on the back deck and has so much fun splashing around! His mommy is really enjoying having some extra time to spend with him since switching to 4 day work weeks. Here are some of the latest pictures of our sweet little man.

2 Steps!

He did it! Sawyer took 2 steps on his own twice yesterday! Woo Hoo! It is a good start and I bet it won't be long before he is walking all over the place :)
