Our big boy

I don't know why, but this picture seems to make Sawyer look so big! We went to Sams last weekend to get dog food and he decided he wanted to climb up and sit on top of the food. He was very proud of himself. It is all these fun little times in life that make me feel so blessed!

This next picture was just funny. We were driving to Springfield and Sawyer fell asleep snuggling with his sippee cup. It was really cute!

MESSY!

Sawyer has discovered that ketchup is food's favorite companion! He wants to dip anything and everything in ketchup. Here's the problem, when you give him ketchup he treats it like finger paint so you have to be careful where you are when he eats it. Wow, he really is messy!

Water is so fun!

In the last couple of weeks Sawyer has gotten to experience his first trip to the rec plex pool and his first trip out on the lake. He had a blast both times! He loved riding in the boat and playing in the water fountains at the rec plex. Hopefully we can go a couple more times before summer is over! (the funniest thing about these pictures is that the swim trunks he is wearing are size 0-3 months, yep, he is just a little guy!)

Cookie?

We have a sweet tooth on our hands! Sawyer's new favorite word is cookie. Every morning when I get him out of bed he says, "cookie?" and points to the pantry. Uh oh, this could be bad! (but it is pretty cute) lol

Playing with Papa

Apparently Sawyer thinks his papa is pretty funny. A couple of weekends ago we made a trip to Arkansas and Sawyer and Papa had a lot of fun in the car. Sawyer gets a kick out of saying Papa's name and watching his reaction. They also like to do the robot dance together. Too bad I didn't get my dad's version on video. It is quite hilarious!

Such a personality!

How can Sawyer be so ornery and sweet at the same time? I find myself asking that question every day. He is the silliest little guy and definitely knows how to push his limits, but then turns right around and is the sweetest thing ever. I just can't get enough of him! The other morning I went in his room and he was still asleep so I opened his closet door to get an outfit out and he woke up. Once he figured out I was in the room he said, "my mommy" in the sweetest little excited voice. Then I went to pick him up out of bed and he just hugged me for the longest time and finally he put his hands on my cheeks and gave me the sweetest kiss while making the "mmmmwaaa" sound at the same time. That memory will be with me till the day I die.

I could tell you tons of stories of how Sawyer has made us laugh over the past few weeks, but I think these videos will do the trick just as well.

Sawyer loves singing and dancing, especially in the car. His favorite song is "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas! It is hilarious. When that song comes on the radio he gets so excited and starts bobbing his head to the music. He even tries to sing along.

Chris is a huge Conan O'brien fan and he records his show every night so he can watch it later. I guess the opening number to the show is really fun because Sawyer gets SO excited when it comes on. He doesn't really care about watching the rest of the show, but the beginning is sure entertaining to him!

I can't even believe how much Sawyer has grown this past month, not just in size, but in personality and ability. I feel like he is a full fledged toddler and not a baby anymore which makes me excited and sad at the same time. He is working on his 6th and 7th tooth right now and this morning I realized that his shoes are too small so we need to go shopping. Wow, they really do grow up way too fast!

The past couple weeks...

* We have looked, but still have not bought a minivan

* Sawyer FINALLY got his 5th tooth

* Sawyer started walking really well and even running at times

* We spent 4th of July in Kansas City and had a blast with Doug and Barb and Grandma and GPa Wilks

Here are some pictures from 4th of July weekend in Kansas City. We went to a parade in Rich Hill (Chris's hometown) and spend a little time at the park. Sawyer decided to be quite cheesy in some of these pictures (and so did Chris!)!

Today we are celebrating our 7 year wedding anniversary! Wow, I can't believe it has been that long! We are so blessed :)
