Yep, that is our kid!

Before having a child of my own I would go to a public place and wonder, why can't they keep their kid under control? Well, now I never think that! Yep, it is usually our kid that is hyper and out of control. Exhibit A...we went to dinner with my family for Kye's birthday a couple weeks ago. This was how Sawyer entertained himself at the table...

I really love that wild and crazy kid!! :)

Preschool already?

Yes, it's true! Sawyer starts preschool in August! We took him this morning to check the place out and he walked around like such a little man, checking everything out. He is going to fit in perfectly! He will start at the First Baptist Learning Center in August and one of his best friends will be starting at the same time so it will be really fun for him to already have a friend. We feel so great about the teachers and the facility. I can't wait to see how much he learns!

On another note, can somebody please invent some type of tracking device that will tell me when my son has a poopy diaper? I have a very bad nose and apparently I have no idea when my son stinks. Luckily I picked Chris up to go to the preschool visit with us because when he got in the car he said, "whoa, that is an aweful smell!" I would have been so mortified if I had walked into Sawyer's preschool visit with him smelling like that. It makes me wonder how many times I have been somewhere and someone was thinking, "geez, doesn't that mom ever change his diaper?" How embarrasing!! If anyone has any great ideas please send them my way! :)

Back to the real world

It has been over a week since we got home from our weeklong vacation in Mexico and life is definitely back into it's busy routine! We LOVED our vacation and we LOVED coming home to Sawyer! It was a good little break, but it is also good to be home with our little buddy, watching him grow and change every day. We had a great trip with two of our best friends. You might ask, what did we do while we were there? I can answer that very simply...

wake up late
eat
lay on the beach
play beach volleyball
eat
lay by the pool
eat
sleep

That's it! That is what our week consisted of and it was glorious!! I highly recommend it!!

Fun Videos

Here are a couple other fun videos I have taken recently. One is of him jumping in his bouncy house at his birthday party and the other is of him dancing along to American Idol the other night. He is always good entertainment for sure! :)

A month's worth of updates!

I am a little behind on my blogging, so here is a month's worth of updates in one blog!...

1. We celebrated our risen Savior by taking Sawyer to an Easter egg hunt at Don and Linda's church, unloading the basket of goodies that the Easter bunny brought to our house, and going to Nanny and Papa's for brunch on Easter Sunday. Sawyer had a lot of fun and that was the start of his gift receiving extravaganza!

2. We celebrated Layne's 29th birthday by going to dinner at Cantina Laredo...yummy! It seems like we went out to eat every day that week! The birthday boy and girl got totally spoiled!

3. As you probably know, Sawyer's birthday was the day after Layne's and we took him to get his favorite food for dinner...pizza! I think we all gained about 5 lbs that week! He had a birthday cupcake and got to play with his new art table. He is quite the artist! The next day all our family and friends gathered for a sporty birthday party to celebrate our 2 year old! He had a blast playing ball and getting a ton of new toys and clothes! He was not a fan of the birthday candles, as you can see by the video below, but he enjoyed everything else about his birthday! The party was at my mom's office and now when we go there he wants to know where the party stuff is, ha ha! :)

4. After a fun filled 2 weeks of celebrations, eating out, and gift receiving we have spent the last week or two just playing, cleaning (our house looked like a toy tornado hit it), and getting ready for our vacation to Mexico in 2 days!!!! We are so excited to spend a week on the beach, but so sad to be leaving Sawyer behind. He will be in great hands with Chris's aunt, but we will miss him ALOT!

5. Sawyer had his 2 year checkup last week and he is a healthy little boy. He was average height, but as we all know, a little on the skinny side. He is in the 20th percentile for his weight, but still growing like a weed every day. He has huge feet so maybe someday he will grow into them! He is, in my opinion, the cutest and funniest little boy I know! :)

I think that about sums it up! What a fun month!!!

Our little cookie monster

Today, unlike most days, I woke up and things were running smoothly. Sawyer woke up a little early, but he was in a good mood and cooperative. I actually had time to fix my hair and put on makeup, which is a rare occurance these days! I was feeling really good as I loaded him in the car and we headed into town, ahead of schedule. He wanted to eat crackers on the way to the sitter's so I gave him some. Next thing I know I hear loud crunching sounds and giggling. I turn around to see Sawyer holding his cracker with both hands and crushing it into his mouth like Cookie Monster eats cookies. He was having a blast and cracker crumbs were flying everywhere. By the time we got to the sitters there were crumbs all over the back seat, in his hair, in my hair, covering his face and clothes, and all over the floor. He thought it was great! I was not quite as amused, but still got a little chuckle out of it. We took some time to clean him up before taking him inside, but he was still a mess when his sitter saw him. She gave him a "wiper" bath and he was good to go. My car, on the other hand, took a little more work. I got myself and my car presentable again and headed into work, 30 minutes late. Ugh! The funny thing is that I just got a text message from his sitter saying "Sawyer is running around in his daiper while his clothes are in the wash. He ate lunch like a cookie monster too!" ha ha ha ha ha, all I can do is laugh at my little buddy! :)
